След поражението си роялистите на практика напускат Северна Англия. Те губят човешките сили от северните графства, които имат силни роялистки симпатии и достъп до Европа посредством пристанищата на брега на [[Северно море]] и са ограничени до [[Уелс]] и Югозападна Англия.
