BloodFire

Става въпрос за бота BloodFire. Това е бот, дупликат на стандартния pywikipediabot [1]. Имам намерение да го ползвам единствено в частта му replace.py - т.е. за дребни масови корекции. Тъй като не е необходимо тези корекции да се виждат в последните промени, кандидатствам за бот-флаг. Декларирам, че няма да осъществявам злонамерени промени, извън евентуални грешки на бота (който ще избягвам и контролирам собственоръчно). Корекциите, ще бъдат отбелязвани. I´m really sorry by speaking in English, but unfortunately, I can´t speak your language. I´m es:Usuario:FAR, and I run a bot. Recently, I used it to work on years, and I could see in your wikipedia there was less interwikis in the articles than in other wikis. I can run my bot in several wikipedias, and improve this.

Of course, I´ll do this only if the community agree. I´ve already ask for permission in the meta page. Do you support me or not?

Probe

В момента ботът работи на три фази, като е малко вероятно на една страница да бъде извършена повече от една редакция по време на трите фази:

1. Форматиране на разделителя на хилядите на числа. (100,233 -> 100 233)
2. Форматиране на разделителя на дробната част на числа. (10.2 -> 10,2)
3. Форматиране с цел избягване на пренасяне. (100 239 -> 100 239)

Фази 1 и 2 не генерираха твърде много редакции, но за фаза 3 се оказва че се очакват значително повече отколкото за първите две фази. Не съм 100% убеден че е необходим бот флаг поради същността на редакциите която изисква постоянно следене, както и поради факта че ботът може да се пуска в ненатоварените части от денонощието, поради това се допитвам до общността. Ако някой желае да помогне, но няма робот, може да ползва една програмка, която работи в браузъра: вижте на Потребител беседа:Петко/monobook.js. Има няколко предимства пред робота, това, че примерно човек може да провери промените (и ако има грешки, да ги поправи) преди да запише страницата, както и това, че всичките поправки се правят еднократно, само с една редакция, вместо с няколко. --Петко 16:05, 14 април 2006 (UTC)

TuvicBot

I would like a bot flag to run my interwiki-bot TuvicBot (using Pywikipedia). This bot will run in manually assisted mode, adding and updating interwiki-links, using the Dutch wiki as a starting point. • Въздържам се. За. I admire to your noble cause, because every wikipedia needs a human approach to solve some of the interwiki-links. However I am scepticle about this bot. My question is if you do not speak our language (I guess your poorly could read it), how you can be sure in the correctness of your choice.   • You're right: I can't read your language properly, neither understand it correctly. So if the ambigious interwiki is located here, I would have to make my robot give up on that page. But, however, if someone made a mistake in an interwiki to the Italian wiki, thus creating 2 different wikilinks to Italian articles, I can easily correct this everywere, also on this wiki. I'm also using the graphical aide from the interwikibot. (it creates nice diagrams when there' an ambiguity, see meta:Interwiki graphs) That way I can usually see very fast if where the error is. So if the ambiguity lies here, I'd make my bot give up (I don't have the intention to correct the whole of Wikipedia on my own), but if the error is elsewhere, I can help set is straight, also on this wiki. --Tuvic 14:22, 4 юли 2006 (UTC)

MSBOT

This bot updates interwikis. It's based on interwiki.py function in pywikipedia and Its owner is Persian[2].

At the present moment we have at least two bots (YurikBot, BloodFire), which are scaning nearly constantly our wikipedia day and night (and succeed to complete the scan every week). We have also at least 3 bots wich are run from other wikipedias (FelixBot, Further_(bot), Escarbot) and helping us with interwikkies. Recently we added TuvicBot which should be run in interactive mode to solve tricky interwikies. I am quite sceptical for new one, especially for not so big wikipedia as ours. Тоз юнак не спазва линия на поведение и в румънската и в турската уикипедия, и си пита ушите в беседата. Аз лично в този случай съм против присъствието му. За разлика от другия холански бот (TuvicBot), Thijs!bot не е сред комуникативните (за сега). BloodIce 22:49, 29 юли 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I see there is some discussion about my bot. BloodIce already requested me to stop it temporarily, as I did. However, my knowledge of Bulgarian is restricted to the Cyrillic alphabet, so I cannot see what the above discussion is about. What should I do to apply for a bot status? I will at least tell something about the bot. It runs using pywikipedia, and takes the Dutch wikipedia and Flacus' warnfiles as a source to add interwiki-links to all pages it runs into. Currently it works on: en, nl, de, nds, nds-nl, li, af, is, da, no, nn, sv, fr, es, pt, gl, ca, it, la, fi, hu, pl, ru, lt, eo, io, ia, ie, id, he, zh and ja. It will only do unambigious edits unsupervised. More intrusive edits (removals or ambiguities) are handled and checked manually by me. Thanks! [[:nl:User:Thijs!|Thijs!] 20:08, 1 август 2006 (UTC)

I shall be honest with you. My comments are in sence that it was difficult to get an answer from you after running your bot. Also I am a little aware that there are many bots operating at bg.wikipedia (as you can se from my comment at MSBOT request). Of course my opinion is not omnipotent , so let us see what the rest of our comunity things. However at least for a week or two, please don't run your bot at our wikipedia. I think you have a point about the contacting issue. I am sorry, do not have to much spare time, and did not look for this page immediately after stopping the bot. The many-bots-arguments sounds nice, but seems to be void, because an extra bot does not push any more pressure on the wikipedia. Especially since my bot already runs on many wikipedia's, adding one more does not cause extra server load. In fact, a dedicated bot, running only on bg and a few other sites, is much less efficient. And I don't assume you will check every edit anyway, so I don't see exactly what the problem with another bot is. I join with your opinion to wait for the opinion of the rest of the community. That is true - if the bot is already in other wikipedia's it will not be a pressure for anyone. And your bot is one of thouse. Excuse me, I didn't think of that prespective. That issue is solved . The other one with communication is also on a good base. Personally I have no objections against your bot. However we still have to wait for the opinions of some other editors. JAnDbot

Please for bot flag for my bot. It's interwiki bot working on cs:, his main domain is human assisted problematical interwiki and interwiki for same names of articles (this operation is working on about 40 languages at same time, but maximal 10 pages per day).

Sometimes this bot do standard interwiki addiction, but only in the languages with bot flag.

Bot is based on pywikipedia. Already with bot status: cs, eo, sl, pl, de, sr, hr, da, en, el, es, it, sk, sh... Awaiting for bot: fi, pt, bn, ...

Solving problematic interwiki means, that bot find all links from this page to another language, in taht languages find next links etc.. If link is to another namespace, bot will ask me, if it may follow this link. In the end, bot will write me list of all found pages in some language and all links from anothr langs which directs to this page. eg:

 (1) Found link to  bs:Saruman in:
        en:Saruman
 (2) Found link to  bs:Melkor in:
        cs:Morgoth
        en:Morgoth

or

 (1) Found link to  he:שר הטבעות - דמויות in:
        en:List of Middle-earth peoples
        he:סארומן
 (2) Found link to he:מורגות' in:
        bs:Melkor
        cs:Morgoth
        da:Morgoth
        en:Morgoth
        gl:Melkor

Now I must select one (or none) of these links for every language. I usually select the link, which has most links from correct word. Usually only one or two langs have bad links or one from langs is redirect to another article (with another interwiki). (In the examples above was german article redirect to list). Sometimes, of cource I must give up solving, because I'm not able to choose correct article (articles are too similar).

Erwin85Bot

I'd like to request bot status for User:Erwin85Bot. I'm an active user and sysop on nl: and I'll work on adding interwiki's on nds-nl:. However to minimize the server load I'd like to add backlinks from other wikipedia's to nds-nl as well. So other bots don't have to load the same pages again. The bot will always run manually assisted. In cases where I don't know what interwiki to use, I will simply give up.   • I want to start on nds-nl so it will add interwiki's to that project. However if this project doesn't have all the links that I find, I want to add those to bg as well. In example if I add a link to bg on nds-nl I want to add nds-nl to bg and if bg doesn't link to x I want to add a link to x on bg. I request a bot flag for my bot. I (fr:User:Sebcaen) come from french wikipedia and I'm a sysop there. The bot is made for interwiki's link, specially on sport domain.
